Songbird – Firefox’s and iTunes’ Love-Child

Imagine… A web browser like Firefox inside of a media player like iTunes. Really… think about it… Pretty great idea right?  Songbird, finally out of beta, lets you play music and surf the web in the same application.

I am always listening to music while I surf, and I am willing to bet you do too.

Ryan Adams Oct. 17 Show Rescheduled

As was predicted, The Cardinals have scheduled a make-up show for the, oh-so-short, October 17th show in Atlanta. If you still have your stubs, you can trade them for free tickets to see the rescheduled show on Friday, March 20th 2009 at the Fox Theater. Visit the Verizon Wireless Ampitherater website to get the info. Remember to get your tickets before the January 9th deadline! See you there!

Make-up Cardinal’s show in March?

I wrote about the Cardinal’s short show in Atlanta a while back. Ever since, rumors of a make-up show have been thrown around, but recently those rumors have started to get some evidence of being true. On Ryan Adams’ offical fansite there have been reports of emails and call backs from various crediable sources about a FREE March make-up show. So, hold on to your ticket stubs and hold your breath until March. I hope to see you there!

G, E, & C

Did you know that G, E, & C are the notes of the NBC chime? The reason NBC uses the chime may not be well known to most people. The original use of the chime was for station identification in the 1920s, long before automation in the 1970s. A sort of tv traffic signal if you will, to switch between stations and pause for station identification. You may still here these today while listening to sports on the radio in the form of a radio announcer. Continue Reading »

The Cardinals’ Short Show in Atlanta

So, I just got back from the Cardinals‘ show at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater on October 17, 2008. My friends and I sat in the front orchestra seats, pretty sweet, isle too! We got there two songs into the band’s set, about 9pm. We were late because we found out there was a Red Robin in Cumming, Ga and just had to eat there. Anyway, the band played some sweet songs, just check the set list.

Infinite Sustain with Moog

The Moog Guitar puts revolutionary new technology in the hands of the guitarist. Moog Music is known for building the finest instruments and the Moog Guitar is first and foremost a very fine guitar; designed to be played by the best musicians as their primary axe. Its AAAAA maple top, swamp ash body and ebony finger board bespeak the quality that musicians have come to expect from a Moog instrument.

The addition of Moog Guitar Electronics opens guitarists to a whole new musical vocabulary: Not a guitar synthesizer, not a MIDI guitar or an effects processor; players are intimately connected to The Moog Guitar because it works its magic on the strings themselves.
