The Cardinals’ Short Show in Atlanta
So, I just got back from the Cardinals‘ show at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater on October 17, 2008. My friends and I sat in the front orchestra seats, pretty sweet, isle too! We got there two songs into the band’s set, about 9pm. We were late because we found out there was a Red Robin in Cumming, Ga and just had to eat there. Anyway, the band played some sweet songs, just check the set list.
1. Into The Light
2. Cobwebs
3. Peaceful Valley
4. Goodnight Rose
5. Bartering Lines
6. Everybody Knows
7. Wonderwall (Oasis) – w/ crazy guitar solo
8. Fix It
9. Off Broadway
10. Sun Also Sets
11. Come Pick Me Up
12. Grand Island (Neal Casal)
13. Shakedown on 9th Street
It may seem like a short set list. That’s because it was. Ryan apologized all show about his voice leaving him. Finally, after Shakedown on 9th Street, he apologized one last time and the band left the stage. I and everyone else there was caught off guard. Did they really just walk off stage? For good? I have only had one beer. Are we suppose to cheer and convince them to come back out? Well, we tried but the house lights went bright and the roadies started taking the stuff off stage. It was over. It was 10pm.
I am one in two for Cardinals‘ shows, this being a loss. I hope they come back to Atlanta healthy and with lots of energy to make it up to the city. If you missed out, here are some of my photos from the show. Enjoy.
P.S. I really dug the neon roses on stage.

As an avid reader of this site, I appreciate the update (: I, too, dug the neon roses. Too bad real roses aren’t that cool. Anyways, sucks that the show was cut so short. There is always next time though!!
